The Four Immeasurables/Infinite Minds (Brahmaviharas)
Loving kindness – Compassion – (empathetic) Joy – Equanimity
A true spiritual practice enables us to walk from separation to connectesness, to discover a wide heart and mind. The Dharma offers us the practice of the four immeasurable minds (Brahmaviharas).
Loving kindness - Maitri
Compassion – Karuna
(Mit)-Freude – Mudita
Gleichmut - Equanimity
They offer us a path out of the suffering of separation - emotions like fear, anger, jealousy - into connectness.
Our habitual reactions, to close our heart and mind in unpleasant situations, are no necessities.
These immeasurable qualities of mind invite us to remember in each situation, even very challenging ones, that we can find peace, happiness and freedom not in separation, but in connectness.
Thay had called them the “Four elements of true love.”
In times of polarisation and discrimination they allow us to take a more spacious perspective and to connect to basic goodness in ourselves and other beings.
During this weekend we will look together deeply into the immeasurable minds and we will touch and nourish these qualities in us. In talks, exercises, meditations we will explore these qualities in ourselves. Mindfulness-practice throughout the day is the foundation in this course: meditation (sitting),(walking), mindful meals, talks, deep relaxation, dharmsharing/mindful listening and speech, periods of noble silence.
Conditions: EIAB daily rates plus Dana for the Dharma Teacher
