Understanding Our Mind
In this course we look at the historical background of the Buddha’s enlightenment. Once we deeply understand the nature of his enlightenment, we also understand how our own mind functions. The different models of consciousness which the Buddha introduced after his enlightenment for the purpose of transformation and healing have shaped the beginning of the development of Buddhist Psychology. They help us to reach a deep understanding of our mind. With this understanding we have a basis to transform our suffering and to experience happiness and contentment in the present moment. We learn to recognize difficult emotions of our daily life, like anger, fear and despair and learn to deal with them in an appropriate and constructive way.
During the whole course we will apply our new insights in sitting meditation, walking meditatioin and other practices.
