Transformation and Healing
According to the teachings of the Buddha, liberation is a condition for happiness. We don’t mean political liberation, but the liberation from mental formations like anger, despair, jealousy and faulty perception. The Buddha describes these mental formations as a poison. As long as these poisons are in our heart, happiness is not available to us.
Joyfully practicing together we will learn that these unwholesome mental formations are a defense mechanism of the mind. The mind tries to defend the image it has of the self: the ego. Because of this image of the ego, unpleasant feelings such as dislike and frustration can arise.
This dynamic will become clear through Dharma Talks and Dharma Sharing. Through the practice of deep looking we will recognize our concepts, perceptions, beliefs, assumptions, our fears and our hopes. We will begin to realize that these mental formations are triggered by external conditions, but their true cause lies in our mind. Knowing this, we are able to leave behind our role of the victim and take an active part in our transformation. We will develop our understanding and compassion through guided meditation and concrete instructions. We will begin to heal our wounds and come back to a clear mind and an open heart.
