In this weekend we will enjoy being outside and learning about the earth
and our connection to it. We will walk in the woods near the EIAB,
build huts, make art with nature, listen to the sounds and the silence,
sing, breathe with the trees, move in mindfulness, play games that
stimulate all of our senses, eat with respect and gratitude, and honor
the many miracles of nature that are constantly available to us.</p>
<p>
In this weekend, the focus of our activities is on children, and
parents/grandparents/adult guardians are welcome to join in as a
supportive presence to the children's activities. There will be optional
sessions of sitting each morning before breakfast for adults, and a bonfire for everyone on Saturday evening, weather permitting.</p>

It will be an intimate, respectful and authentic sharing among brothers and sisters. In addition, we will enjoy practices in meditation and contemplation from both the Christian and Buddhist traditions. We look forward to learning from each other and deepening our understanding of our own spiritual tradition through the open-hearted discovery of another spiritual tradition. Friar Brian has come regularly to practice with the Plum Village community over the last many years--to our great delight, and this is the first time we have the opportunity to open our lively and profound dialogues with him to the wider community, in this weekend format.</p>

<p>In this course we will return to ourselves and learn
how to recognize and calm our emotions without being overwhelmed by them. To achieve
this we will learn to harmonize our breathing and be truly present for our
emotions, in the same way as a mother lovingly cares for her baby. Gradually,
even difficult emotions will begin to seem like old friends who show us the way
to achieving greater insight and freedom. We recommend that participants come
for the whole week, so that we can take advantage of the opportunity for deep
listening that our calm and togetherness offers. However, if it is not possible
to come for the whole week , you can also come just for the weekend (27 - 29
April).<br /></p>

<p>In their work, their private

healing alternatives to the central tenets of what is perceived as a
destructive economy. For eight years the network ‘Achtsame Wirtschaft’ (<a href="http://www.achtsame-wirtschaft.de/">www.achtsame-wirtschaft.de</a>) has provided
a forum for this group by offering regional retreats, courses, lectures and
regional groups.</p>
<p>As part of the first network community-meeting,
we will learn about the experiences, projects and visions of others. In this
atmosphere of mindfulness and relaxation we will be able to gain insights,

is just as important that we learn to listen to ourselves with compassion;
meditation and writing exercises will help us with this. In addition, we will
also use various painting and drawing techniques, e.g. ‘guided drawing’ and
'painting wall’, to deepen our understanding for ourselves and others.</p>

<p>Taking
personal experience and practice as a basis, this course examines the richness
and the risks associated with the caregiver’s role, especially with loved ones
(old or suffering relatives or friends). With a delicate, open and loving
attitude we will explore the many possible “traps of the mind”, the risks of
unhealthy mental states connected to the role and the situation which can drain
us of energy and reduce our understanding and compassion. We will discover how
to nourish&nbsp; the “skilful means” offered
by the Dharma, in order to maintain personal balance and health, and develop
the&nbsp; capability to offer a serene and
loving&nbsp; presence to the loved one in need.</p>
